    Lynette Andrews

    Executive Director

"It's rewarding to provide the structure and support that enables our musicians to share their love of music with thousands each year and to receive feedback from those who have been moved by our performances."

"Music is a precious commodity that inspires, educates, heals, and unifies. But it must be nurtured and supported by residents, businesses, and educational institutions through concert attendance, volunteerism, partnerships, and donations."

Lynette Andrews has been the executive director for Symphonicity since 2017 when initially stepping in to fill a sudden vacancy. She has since led the organization to unprecedented heights to include an expanded reach through radio, print and TV media and a significant increase in ticket distribution, revenue and development.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Lynette took an interest in the violin at a young age. She earned a music education degree from Oral Roberts University and studied under Nancy Hill, graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, and Drew Lecher, former concertmaster of the Milwaukee Ballet, Opera, and Musical Theatre orchestras.

Lynette started out teaching band and orchestra but later pursued a career in marketing and public relations in television - which brought her to Virginia Beach. All the while she did not let the dust settle on her violin as she continued to teach private lessons and played professionally in various ensembles.

In addition to her role as Executive Director, Lynette continues to maintain a small private music studio, serve as Principal Second Violin for the orchestra, and practice real estate in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
