MAESTRO DANIEL W. BOOTHE
He is one of America’s most dynamic and eclectic musical leaders, having worked with numerous GRAMMY-winning artists and composers in many genres. As a conductor, performer, or recording producer for dozens of albums and broadcasts, his music has reached over 50 million people in 175 countries. His award-winning compositions have been recorded by world-class ensembles and are published by Cane River Music. In 2016, he was chosen to lead the Hallmark Channel’s broadcast of America’s National Christmas Tree Lighting Concert at the White House, featuring former U.S. President and First Lady Obama and a line-up of celebrity GRAMMY-winning artists.. A finalist for the American Prize in conducting, he was also the sole-recipient of the 2007 Chautauqua Summer Music Festival Orchestra and Opera Conducting Fellowship in New York. His military musical leadership earned the highest international award by the John Philip Sousa Foundation. Committed to education, he has served on three university faculties, provided leadership to nearly a dozen public school music programs, has been published with industry-leading journal essays and newspaper arts columns, and is nationally sought-after as a preeminent expert on music adjudication methods. In 2019, he was an honored recipient of the National Medal of the Arts, the highest honor given to artists by the United States government.
In addition to his music career, Boothe is a skilled communicator and public relations professional. He earned top recognition in media management and strategic public affairs leadership as a Distinguished Graduate of the Defense Information School. He also earned the 2014 Public Affairs Communication Excellence Award from the U.S. Air Force, which recognized him as the top communication professional out of 179 peers worldwide. His outstanding reputation led to his hand-picked selection as a personal communications and national media advisor in the Pentagon, where he personally served as a public affairs advisor to the 23rd Secretary of the Air Force. He currently serves as the Chief of Public Affairs for the 192d Wing of the Air National Guard at Langley Air Force Base.
Boothe resides in Chesapeake, Virginia, with his wife and five children. He has also served as a commissioner for the City of Chesapeake Fine Arts Commission.
