What To Expect

Our regular masterworks and indoor pops concerts take place at The Sandler Center in Town Center of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Outdoor concerts are usually held at King Neptune Park on the oceanfront of Virginia Beach. Sometimes Symphonicity plays outdoor concerts at the Mount Trashmore Park stage in Virginia Beach and other indoor concerts with collaborators at the American Theatre in Hampton, Virginia. Subscriptions are sold directly by Symphonicity and can only be purchased through our office. Contact: tickets@symphonicity.org 

Single tickets to a concert can be purchased directly through this Symphonicity website. Purchasing here will result in a discount on various fees compared to purchasing the tickets elsewhere. Tickets may also be purchased directly from The Sandler Center's website or from their box office. Purchasing tickets in person results in fewer fees.

Sometimes third-party websites will attempt to sell tickets for our concerts but purchasing them is highly discouraged as we cannot offer refunds for those tickets and they tend to be overpriced.

Concerts at The Sandler Center begin at 3pm on Sundays. Concerts at King Neptune Park begin at 7:30pm on Thursdays.

Parking for The Sandler Center concerts is extremely easy and FREE! Multiple parking garages are available adjacent to the concert hall throughout Town Center. The Westin Hotel parking garage and the Apex parking garage provide the closest options. Street side parking is also available but with only a 2-hour limit.

For our outdoor concerts at King Neptune Park in Virginia Beach, parking options include mostly paid spaces in nearby city parking garages, hotel parking garages, and some streetside parking.

The usual Sunday concert at The Sandler Center lasts approximately 90 minutes. On a few occassions our concerts last closer to two hours (but only when something very special is planned!). Concerts have 15-minute intermissions about halfway through to provide comfort breaks and opportunities to enjoy food and drinks at the concessions window.

Symphonicity concerts are not your "traditional" classical symphony concerts - in fact, they are quite relaxed. Our audiences tend to dress in a variety of ways that appear mostly for comfort but with a little style, if desired! It is common to see business-casual type combinations but also very casual options, such as jeans or t-shirts. Symphonicity no longer wears tuxedos at most concerts in an effort to relax a bit more along with our audience!

We equally enjoy performing for audience members who are new to the repertoire as well as for those who know it very intimately. Our music director provides a pre-concert talk 30-minutes before the concert in the lobby where audience members can meet guest artists and learn more about the planned musical selections. Additionally, there are notes about each piece in the printed program which helps to inform but also to hopefully ignite interest in learning more! Our music director integrates remarks from the stage, multimedia presentations, and sometimes even slides on the screen with text and other information to bring it all together.

At Symphonicity we encourage clapping when the inspiration strikes! Many times our audiences are so moved by a movement of a symphony that they will spontaneously errupt in applause before the music has ended. Our music director allows time and space for this to occur naturally. If you are inspired by music and want to show it, you'll feel right at home at a Symphonicity concert!

Drinks are sold at the concessions in the lobby of The Sandler Center. If purchasing a special cup, one may bring the beverage into the concert hall to enjoy during the concert! Special treats to eat can also be enjoyed in the lobby during intermission.

Concerts at King Neptune Park on the Virginia Beach oceanfront provide perfect access to the boardwalk. It is a beautiful stretch of restaurant, shopping and hotel options to enjoy before or after the music!
